With every single ‘star kid’ has either made their Bollywood debut, or are waiting for their debuts, Navya Naveli Nanda, Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter, has never stated her intentions of becoming an actor.
While her younger brother, Agastya Nanda, debuted in Bollywood with Zoya Akhtar’s poorly received The Archies, rumors about Navya Naveli Nanda also debuting as an actor have always stayed alive.
Recently, Shweta Bachchan-Nanda, Navya Naveli Nanda’s mother, spoke about her Bollywood debut, and if it’s ever going to happen.
During an appearance at an event for podcasters, Shweta Bachchan-Nanda said, “I am here to represent my daughter, and I am very excited for her and proud for her. I am thrilled to be here to collect the award on her behalf.” Navya Naveli hosts the podcast, What The Hell Navya.
When asked if Navya Naveli Nanda will ever make her Bollywood acting debut, Shweta Bachchan-Nanda said, “I think you are very well acquainted with the work Navya does, and she has her hands full. I don’t think Bollywood is the way to go for her.”
Talking about her daughter’s talent as a podcaster, Shweta Bachchan-Nanda added, “I think it is wonderful, it is a great way of reaching out to people. You can carry it wherever you go, you can listen to it on a train or a bus. I think it is a fantastic and wonderful medium of getting your word across.”
While Shweta Bachchan-Nanda made it clear that Bollywood isn’t Navya Naveli Nanda’s cup of tea, her son, Agastya Nanda, will next be seen in Sriram Raghavan’s Ikkis, which will also star Dharmendra, Jaideep Ahlawat, Ekavali Khanna, Aadyanshi Kapoor, Guneet Sandhu, and Pragati Anand.
The official log line of Ikkis reads, “Set against the backdrop of the 1971 war, follows the life of second Lieutenant Arun Khetrapal.”
