In the age where social media is the biggest tool of promotion for anyone and everyone, becoming a meme is the best thing that can happen for publicity. In a recent interview with Zoom, Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal producer Bhushan Kumar revealed that he is trying to explain the same thing to director Sandeep Reddy Vanga.

The film was labelled toxic and misogynist for its glorification of violence and domestic abuse. Although the film made over Rs 900 crore, the criticism did not stop coming even from some of the industry’s biggest stars. Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga reacted to most of them and was criticised for his inability to take feedback on his work.

In the interview, Bhushan Kumar revealed director Sandeep Reddy Vanga is ‘sometimes not okay’ with memes on Animal. ”He replies too much and I keep explaining to him, ‘Don’t bother. It’s benefitting our film only.’ See all said and done, it has become a cult film,” Kumar stated.

He further continued, ”Everybody is waiting for part 2. We’ve done ₹900 crores of gross all over the world, so it’s humungous. People want to talk, let them talk; that doesn’t bother us.”

In an interview with Galatta Plus, Sandeep Reddy Vanga had said, ”Misogyny is disrespect to women. This is the actual definition, right. So no. Even Kabir Singh, even Animal, even me as a person. I always feel my production house name is Bhadrakali Pictures and I don’t know why people think…not too many people, only these 15-20 jokers. But it’s a wrong word to use on Kabir Singh, Animal”.
